Susan Mernit points to a fascinating scrape and analysis of Bloglines subscription data. According to the spreadsheet, Topix.net feeds in aggregate are the #3 subscription source at Bloglines.We wondered how Topix.net stood in aggregate, since the most popular feed lists on bloglines and my yahoo are for individual feeds. We've often wondered how we'd do if they counted all of the Topix.net feeds together.
Topix.net has 187k subs total on My Yahoo, compared with 7k on Bloglines. My Yahoo is *huge* in rss.
For calibration, our gay/lesbian feed is our most popular feed with 18,649 subscribers on My Yahoo. My Yahoo shows it as their #82 most popular feed. We can also confirm that knitting is much bigger online than silicon valley techies would guess. Our knitting feed is our 12th most popular feed; quiliting is #10.
